Elspeth Beard "Lone Rider" book launch07.06.2017
Vines of Guildford proudly presents the “Lone Rider” book launch.
Hosted in our newly renovated showroom, we are delighted to support a long standing friend and customer of Vines, Elspeth, with celebrating the launch of her first book “Lone Rider”. In 1982, at the age of just twenty-three, Elspeth Beard left behind her family and friends in London and set off on a 35,000-mile solo adventure around the world on her motorbike. Told with honesty and wit, this is the extraordinary and moving story of a unique and life-changing adventure.
Elspeth Beard is a motorcyclist and award-winning architect. She runs her own architecture company, specializing in creating and remodelling interesting and unusual buildings. She lives in a converted water tower in the southeast of England and still enjoys riding her collection of motorcycles, which includes her trusty BMW R 60/6.
The evening’s festivities will include light refreshments followed by an account of Elspeth’s story with questions & answers lead by well-known British author, journalist and a founder/curator of the Adventure Travel Film Festival; Lois Pryce.
